Membership
Club membership runs from the 1st January to 31st December each year and is currently set at £3 per adult for the year. Members are kept up to date with events through regular e-mails although we also aim to do a monthly Newsletter, as well as try and maintain the Website/Facebook/Forum pages with up to date information too. Naturally, all members are invited to attend the regular monthly meet. The club organises a number of events throughout the year to which all members are invited and also endeavours to set up club camping at any events that members are intending to travel to. We are also members of the ABVWC which entitles our members to various benefits and enables our club to benefit from CLUB CAMPING at the many national events throughout the country.
Just so you are aware, this is what you get for your £3………….a membership card and number (excellent for discounted insurance), you get the advantage of being protected by Public Liability Insurance whilst in the Club Camping Area at shows, you get a Club Sticker, you get free access to the CLUB WEBSITE, FORUM and CLUB pages on FACEBOOK (please note the running costs of the website and forum are sustained by us and not included in the membership fee), and
finally..........……………you get our dedication!!
We would like to say at this point in time a very big "THANK YOU" to all of you that have attended any club events over the last few years. I think generally speaking we've all had good times and made new friends along the way and long may that continue within the club, after all that is what we all want!!
The membership has swelled as the years have gone by although I'm sure a few have passed by the wayside too.....you are always welcome back. Having said that I have received a couple of fresh e-mails recently and hopefully a few more new faces will be coming along to the meets. We all look forward to meeting you.
The future?????? To continue growing naturally, does that mean watercooled I here you ask??? I think realistically we have to be open to the new generation of watercooled enthusiasts. The reason behind this? We know of people with classic waterboilers who are saving for there 1st camper who have been put off by the fact that all the site suggests aircooled ownership and I believe that needs to change:
Yes we are predominatly an aircooled club and that will remain the heartbeat of the club for many years to come, however we have members with water cooled veedubs and I think that as long as the roots of the club stay as they are and new members respect that then all I can say is if you own a classic waterboiler.......get yourself down to
The Peacock (first Thursday of every month!!)
